First Camping Trip with Toy Hauler!!!

Somehow i missed blogging these pictures so they are a little out of the time frame.....this was the last weekend in October. We figured we could get one camping trip in before it got too cold.....

Well we got the camping trip in BUT man was it cold!!!

Rockport, Utah

We love it already!!

Such cute boys!!

Ken's parents went with us, we froze them too!! lol

Good thing i brought some beanies!!

My cute hubby

Braxton and Papa freezing by the fire.

The boys were SOOOO excited to finally get to sleep in the camper up top on the bunk bed, they loved it!!

In the morning we were set out to go fishing! These are our brand new poles we had just got before the trip. I hadn't been fishing since I was a kid with my Dad, been at least 15yrs. (man i think i'm getting old.)

Alex giving it a try

Braxton trying SOOO hard

Ken fixing the tangled line...yet again.

Braxton taking a break with Grandma

We didn't catch any fish....kind of a bummer, but it was still a wonderful day. Can't wait till it warms up again so we can go camping all the time.

SANTA!!!!

Today Weber State University had Santa and his Reindeer for the kids to come visit, and it was all free!   We couldn't pass that up!! And it just worked out perfect that it was early out day for Braxton so he was able to go with us.

We met our friend Hailey and Jessica with her daughter Kennedy there. As soon as Kennedy saw us she was like "COME ON WE HAVE TO SEE SANTA!!!" She was beyond excited, it was so cute.

There were two Reindeer outside, the were so stinking cute!! I never had seen one before so i was pretty excited myself.

Santa was set up in the middle of the book store....and the line wasn't too bad at all, just a few people in front of us. Kennedy was having a hard time waiting even that long though....and when it was her turn she literally ran and jumped into santa's arms and yelled "SANTA"...it was the most adorable thing ever!!

Alex did really good. He told Santa about a few things and was so excited to get his candy cane.

Braxton turned very shy. He didn't really talk just shook his head a lot. It was pretty stinking cute.

After Santa we went upstairs where they had some crafts set up for the kids. It was SOOOO awesome, there were even weber state girls there and each kid had a girl helping them out so mom's didn't even have to do anything but take pictures!!

At the end of our little adventure we had to take the kids for a restroom break, but Alex was good to go so he hung out with Hailey by the huge (very lopsided lol) Christmas tree and drank his hot chocolate.

We had a fun time!!! Thanks Hailey, Jess, and Kennedy for inviting us!!!

Wind Storm 2011

Last week a HUGE wind storm came through Weber and Davis counties....like nothing i've ever seen since living here. Davis County was hit the worst as they has 100mph gusts going through. TONS of HUGE trees were blown over and lots of damage was done. A few close friends had some serious damage and trees down and lost power for days. And of course this happens when the temperatures have dropped greatly in the last week or so.

Pleasant View didn't get much damage at all, we really lucked out and we can't complain.

The winds came through a bit and I guess we learned a bit of a lesson. Being that we just got our toy hauler right before it got cold we figured we get a nice cover so it was protected from the snow. We didn't think to reenforce the corners or maybe put a tarp under it first for when the STRONG winds come through....

We toughed the cold, got all bundled up, and went out with some sewing needles and jean patches to patch up the wholes. More winds were forecasted and we didn't want a total lose.

I know i look like a freak but it was FREEZING!!

Christmas Spirit

Ken came home from work the other day and he was on a mission!! One of the ladies he works with is having some financial problems, she has two boys and they were asking her for the Christmas count down calendars so they knew when Christmas would be.

First Ken just thought oh we'll just go pick up two of those little calendars where you open the day up and get a little piece of candy. Well come to find out those things are about impossible to find. After 3 stores i threw in the towel. NOT Ken.....

He came home from work, got Braxton and off to the store they went to get "supplies".

Maybe my craftiness is wearing off on him too!! I love it!

Him and the boys went to work on making homemade count down calendars....

I think they turned out great!!! After they made them we all jumped in the car and delivered them to lady he works with.
What a nice thing my boys did to bring smiles to two little boys!!
