Jumping around

The Alexander's had us over for the other night to hang out. We brought some pulled pork over that Ken BBQ'd up and it was a very nice evening. 

The boys always have a blast on the trampoline doing tricks. 

After dinner everyone enjoyed some ice cream!! Which was of course was the best part. 

Toy Hauler

A few months ago Ken and I decided we wanted to buy a camper trailer, so my Ken started looking. He found this one down in Hurricane, Utah. It's a 2007 30 ft  Lite Weight, toy hauler,  in really good condition. I wasn't able to go with him to pick it up so Ken had to take the adventure 6hrs south and pick up the trailer by himself. He was a little nervous but he did great and got it home.  

We have plans to lay more concrete in the spring and expand the side pad so we'll be able to fit the trailer on the side of the house. Until then it's going to have to stay diagonal in the driveway like this. When we got it in the driveway it was WAY bigger than i was expecting!! 

Ken is like a kid in a candy store. He is SO excited about our trailer and has been cleaning and doing thing with it since we got it. He's a happy man. 

We even put Alex to work cleaning!! He fit great up in the cubby. 

Jalapenos and more Jalapenos

Our little garden did really well this year. We planted lots of jalapeno plants in hopes to make salsa and sweet jalapenos...turns out in ONE picking we got 4lbs of Jalapenos!!! 

My good friend Jessica gave me her recipe for the sweet Jalapenos and we were off!!!  We also decided to can pickles in the same day...so we were once again canning ALL day. 

Alex liked helping out with the lids, he got to use the magnet to get them out of the hot water, he did a great job too! 

Ken sliced Jalapenos for a LONG time, me...not so much, no way I was using that slicer. I told him to sue the food processor to slice them but he preferred the slicer. 

Here's all our pickles. Some dill, spicy dill, and some bread and butter.

And here's all our sweet jalapenos!!! We did buy some more so this is about 9lbs worth. It was a messy and sticky process with all the sugar but I think it's worth is. 

And look at that cute boy!!! 

This concludes our canning adventure for 2011. NO MORE!!! 

Getting busy with homework

Alex is a big boy now and had his first homework assignment. Each week he'll have a "letter" card that he has to find things that start with that letter and put on the card. The first one was "A" of course. 

He's doing really well with cutting. Check out the tongue, hahaha. He always has that tongue out when he's working hard on something. LOVE it. 

My Alex is growing up fast.

Hanging out with Kaycee!!!

We've been babysitting our little buddy Kaycee again on Tuesdays and we love it! She is so easy to watch and her and Alex just love each other.

When she first showed up she Nikki had her hair all done pretty in a cute little outfit.  

But then....hahaha...yeah she didn't like her hair up anymore and we lost the sweatshirt AND she found the cucumbers in my garden basket. 

turns out she was really loving the cucumbers. She at a good chunk out of two of them.

We love hanging out with princess Kaycee!! Alex is always asking me when she's coming over again. 

Boys Photo Shoot

Braxton's mom took both the boys to get pictures done by one of her family members at the Union Station. They came out so great!!!

Homemade Salsa!!!

As I said on my last post my husband has gone crazy with this canning adventure. Well the adventure continues....yesterday it was salsa....i knew it was going to be a long process but holy cow it was a LONG process!!! BUT i think it was worth it, it turned out great and we should have salsa to  last us till next summer. 

Ken really isn't asleep in this picture, shoot this was near the beginning of the day, guess he was just taking a little rest for a second. (and by the way he's been dieting like crazy...look how good he looks!!)

We went up to the local veggie stands up in Box Elder and got lots of great veggies.

Look at all that fabulous garlic!! That was also fresh local garlic.

The end result!!! We made several different kinds and heat levels....of course some i could eat because i'm a sissy with spice, then lots of real salsa, as Ken would say. 

Our little canning adventure is turning into lots of good stuff.
